Popular and sonorous New Anchor, Isha Sesay has left CNN, an outfit she reportedly spent 13 years, a period that saw her cover some top news items around the world and especially Africa where she’s from.
Isha announced her exit from CNN on social media saying “it’s really happening, folks!! After more than a decade behind the desk with those three red letters… I HAVE LEFT CNN.”
Making further comments on the reason for her exit, Isha said in an interview said she was ”taking a step back from working as an anchor to focus on what resonates the most with her.”
You will recall that Isha reported heavily on the abduction of the Chibok girls by the Boko Haram insurgents in 2014.
Isha also took the opportunity of her exist to take a swipe on the Western media outfit and their coverage of Donald Trump’s presidency. “It’s all so Trump-focused,” she explains. “He sucked all of the oxygen out of the room. The media is following that lead to the exclusion of almost everything else, in a meaningful way. For me, personally, it’s not what I want to spend all my time doing,” she said.
