It’s funny how exquisite, gorgeous, pretty we are dress, looking so formal or informal and elegant, then, we use the convenient (Toilet), and we mess it up, without cleaning it. (Yark, that’s selfish)
This brings us to: TOILET ETIQUETTE.
I guess you might be pondering why this topic. I went to the mall, queuing up for a turn in the toilet, only for a pretty, gorgeously dressed lady to come out from the toilet, smiling and feeling cool with herself (Please I am not jealous, and yes, she was wearing a pretty dress)
As I stepped into the toilet, the bowl was messed up, the sight was unbearable, almost like she had a battle inside, and it’s funny I heard her flush, but, her waste was probably a rock, so, not all went down.
I stepped out immediately; she looked at me and said “ain’t it clean?” I smiled and shook my head vigorously as a sign of a “NO”. We could see the embarrassment on her face, as she stepped back into the toilet again to make a second flush.
Few seconds after she stepped out of the toilet, some ladies made rude comments on that avoidable 3 minutes extra wait to clean her own mess.
Rule 1: We are put off by messy, nasty, smelly toilets, so, if you mess it, please do clean it
Rule 2: Some people feel they are too sophisticated to clean their own mess (when they are not), or look at their own body waste. When you flush the first time, please wait, look at the bowl and ensure all particles are flushed and toilet clean. If some wastes are still sighted, kindly wait some few minutes to flush a second time.
Rule 3: I am not a Doctor, but, I feel medically, it is important to know the colour of your body waste, and report changes if it occurs (e.g., blood-stain). So, the next time you feel too sophisticated or nonchalant to check your own waste, it may be a pointer of a medical issue that needs urgent attention, which would eventually save your life. (Be wise)
Rule 4: Remember, nobody likes to clean up someone else’s mess, and so it makes sense for everyone to clean up after use. Unfortunately, not everyone practices good hygiene.
Rule 3: Be hygienic always.
Rule 4: If you are in the office, please do not take reading materials into the office toilet.
Rule 5: Learn to always wash your hands after using the toilet before shaking the hand of your fellow citizen.
