So my Christmas holidays have always just come and gone without anything special, it was basically the same old usual stuff – be on break from school, stay home alot, go out a few times, have family members over, eat, take pictures and sleep.
There was nothing so special or significant, but all that’s changed this year.
I was sitting on a couch in my room some night ago when an idea popped in, kind of like a light bulb went on (or is it off?) Anyways *flips hair*
2016 has been such an awesome year! No, it definitely wasn’t great all through but even out of the sadness came alot of joy, yunno? So my idea was really simple but great… Wait for it…!
For the next 5 days leading to Christmas, I’ll pick out one thing or event I’m thankful for and write about it. The fun part? I get to hear what you’re thankful for as well; and well, we are thankful for each other’s blessings and hopeful for the new year. So here goes, darlings!
So I started out this new year really hopeful. There was alot I was anticipating – I had finals coming up, exams to get into one thing or the other, new territories to conquer and just a lot of stuff. I was excited and freaked out to say the least. Come ending of January, I’m checking my first finals result and that’s where the first miracle happens. You know how you expect to not do so well or even fail but its the exact opposite cause you clear every single paper exceedingly well? Yeah, that was me.
Proceed to the next month and I’m facing another set of finals and this time, it seems like it will certainly be the killer, that one obstacle that doesn’t let you move to the next level. But them it comes and goes just as the first and even better. Fast forward to a few months later and the results are out and fantastic! Beyond my imagination and definitely a bigger miracle.
So on my first day, I’m thankful for miracles that came out of painstaking studying sessions, deprived fun times and tearful nights. I’m thankful for failed courses (yes yes, I know this one course that I don’t know how I passed) that turned into distinctions and for mockers that turned into clapperboards (because yes, there were people who never did believe I was up to passing certain papers or even the exam itself but ha! God gat me). I’m thankful for scary examinations that became stepping stones to success stories.
So darlings, what are you thankful for?
