Continued from episode 7
Femi: yes, come in.
Murewa: Hello my oga at the top.
Femi (laughing): that’s so fast; I was thinking you’ll spend some time talking with my friend
Murewa: No o, it’s still working hours, I had to be brief. Besides, she’s busy and seems to be scared of her boss.
Femi: ehen! Which one of them?
Murewa(giving him a mischievous look): are you asking me again?
Femi: Haaa! No I’m not like that.
Murewa: who would have known that you’re the boss Jadesola fears so much.
Femi: Jadesola is one of my best staff. You know you ladies have a way of reading unnecessary meanings in everything.
Femi: Don’t feign ignorance with me, I’m sure you understand me. Besides, Jadesola gives her best when she is under pressure.
Murewa: Hmmm… Now I understand
Femi: What should I offer you?
Murewa: Nothing, I’m good.
Femi: are you sure?
Murewa: yes please.
Femi: Okay if you say so….do you know I was just thinking about you when you suddenly appeared?
Murewa: are you serious?
Femi: yes I am, I just left Timi’s office and he told me all that happened between you two.
Murewa: were you there when he called me today?
Femi: no, but he mentioned he would call you.
Murewa: He called about 30 minutes ago.
Femi: I guess you guys are good now, right?
Murewa: Yes we are, thanks so much.
Femi: Murewa I must confess I’m happy to hear this, in fact there’s no need to say anything further; you just made my day.
Murewa (smiling): I have to go now, my time is far spent.
Femi (trying to stand up): It’s okay, I’m so glad you came, thank you.
Murewa: you’re welcome.
Femi opened the door for her as she got to the door. Murewa met Jadesola downstairs and they both saw her off to her car before they returned to their work.
After the close of work that day, Murewa drove straight home very tired, as she got down from her car she could hear her father shouting in anger. She couldn’t understand what was happening, it’s been a long time she heard him talk in that manner. As she approached the door she heard her mother’s voice too, she became confused “could they be fighting?” She thought to herself. She has never seen or heard her parents fight before. The moment she opened the door and entered, her father turned and faced her.
Dr. Campbell: Thank God you are here
Murewa: Good evening sir.
Dr. Campbell: is it true that you are turning down Olaitan’s offer to marry you?
Mrs. Campbell: Ha ha, you should at least let this girl rest. She’s just coming back from work for God’s sake.
Dr. Campbell: Woman please stay out of this. (Turning to Murewa) Murewa answer me now.
Murewa (facing down): yes sir.
Dr. Campbell: Good and is it also true that you want to marry a blind man?
Murewa: Daddy, he had an accident and lost his sight, he wasn’t born blind. Moreover, I think it can be operated upon. And I…
Dr. Campbell: shut up!
Mrs Campbell (in a low tone): Murewa just keep calm and don’t say a word.
Dr.Campbell: can you hear the rubbish coming out of your daughter’s mouth?
Mrs.Campbell: we can’t force her to marry someone she doesn’t love.
Dr. Campbell: Is that why she should marry a blind boy? And people will start talking that my only daughter got married to a blind boy?
Mrs Campbell: heeee! we shouldn’t put what people will say before our daughter’s happiness, if she has made up her mind to go on with him, all we can do is to continue praying for her.
By this time Murewa was already seated on the chair crying profusely.
Dr. Campbell: I will never support that marriage, as far as I am concerned you will marry Olaitan and that is final.
With that he stormed out angrily to his room and then locked the door behind him. Murewa couldn’t say anything; she quietly walked to her room crying. She locked the door behind her and she knelt down beside her bed to pray. She asked God to help her make the right decision and to ease off her father’s anger. After about 15 minutes prayer, she went to the bathroom had her bath and slept off.
(At the Cole’s residence)

Timi: don’t mind her sir, she’s just a friend.
Otunba Cole: …and you don’t want to go to the next level with her?
Timi: I want to but at least she hasn’t given her consent yet.
Tolani: she’s only being a lady, I can read through her mind that she’s into him already.
Dr. Cole: hmmmm… Tolani, the seer.
Otunba Cole: Tolani is that all?
Tolani: that would be all for now.
Timi: e se pupo.
Otunba Cole: Timileyin, you should invite her over.
Timi: she was here few days ago, but mummy was on call so she didn’t meet her, but don’t worry she’ll be here soon.

The family finished listening to the news and they all went to their room.
